A STEP TOWARDS A CLEANER ENVIRONMENT
Rayan Investments Ltd., which is now known as Rayan Environmental Solutions, was founded in 1989 by Murray Cruickshank. Our company has been the only glass processor in Atlantic Canada, which partnered with Alcool NB Liquor in 1992 (under the Beverage Containers Act) to manage all non-refillable alcoholic beverage containers returned through all redemption centres in New Brunswick. We export the processed product throughout North America and the Caribbean for their recycling purposes. We’ve survived and flourished over the decades because of our dedication to serving the community with environmentally friendly recycling services. We have always been enthusiastic about value-added innovation. Although our prime focus is on the recycling of glass, scrap steel, and metals, we also own and operate a fleet of trucks.
OUR TIMELINE
1983
The founder Murray Cruickshank operates under the name M&J Cruickshank. The company specializes in trucking and transporting used glass from the U.S. to Canada for recycling.
1985
Due to the increase in contaminants in the U.S. glass and absence of glass-cleaning facilities in Canada, transporting the used glass to Canada becomes prohibited.
1989
Rayan Investments Ltd., a glass plant is incorporated by Murray.
1992
Rayan acquires Alcool NB Liquor’s beverage container transportation, recycling and management contract, which is running successfully to this day.
